At Fast Forward Music, we employ a Person-Centred Approach to student learning. We carefully consider each student’s care, support, and Special Educational Needs (SEN) to tailor the qualifications, delivery style, and assessments to best suit the individual. Our approach incorporates SMART goals to ensure students are fully supported in their learning journey.

Flexible and Tailored Provision

Fast Forward Music offers a flexible and layered approach to education, depending on several factors, such as:

  • Duration of student attendance
  • Type of course (Group, 1:1, or 2:1)
  • Placement length (half-term, termly, or long-term)

We collaborate closely with schools to determine the appropriate course level by utilizing shared data, assessing individual interests in music, conducting baseline assessments, quizzes, and observations.

Offering & Timetable

At Fast Forward Music, our weekly timetable is designed to give students a structured, engaging, and hands-on learning experience. Each week is broken into focused sessions covering Music Production, DJing, Media & Promotion, Hair, Makeup & Styling, and Health & Wellbeing, alongside Functional Skills in English and Maths. Our curriculum blends creative industry qualifications with personal development, teamwork, and employability training, giving students the tools and confidence to progress into further education, apprenticeships, or work in the creative sector.

Short-Term Programmes

  • 12-Week Reengagement Programme (Workshops)
  • Rockschool Music Production 
    Our short-term programme supports both individual and group settings (1:1, 2:1, or group). These are tailored music production courses. Each programme aims to equip students with practical and theoretical knowledge in areas such as:
    • Audio production
    • Electronic music production
    • Mixing, editing, mastering
    • Sound for media

Math & English

At Fast Forward Music, we offer Functional Skills Maths and English at Entry Levels 1–3 and Level 1 & 2, alongside GCSE options. Delivered by our experienced and qualified tutors, these sessions are designed to build confidence, strengthen core skills, and ensure every student meets the essential academic requirements for further education, apprenticeships, or employment.

Long-Term Programmes

  • Rockschool Creative Music Industry Level 1 Award to Diploma
    For long-term placements, Fast Forward Music offers a structured programme that leads to qualifications ranging from Level 1 Award to Diploma in Creative Music Industry. The programme is flexible, allowing schools to select optional units of interest, and it focuses on building expertise in:
  • Performance
  • Music Production
  • Composition
  • Live Events
  • Entrepreneurship

Each qualification is tailored to meet the student’s needs, as well as the educational goals set by their school.

Certification Process

All qualifications and certifications are discussed at induction and levels of requirement are to be met within the school year. There maybe exceptions on a students special education needs.
