What We Expect

Fast Forward Music – Code of Conduct

At Fast Forward Music, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and purposeful learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors.
This Code of Conduct sets clear expectations to support learning, personal development, and wellbeing.

By attending Fast Forward Music, all students agree to follow this Code of Conduct.

1. Respect for Others

  • Treat all students, staff, visitors, and members of the public with respect at all times

  • Bullying, intimidation, harassment, discrimination, or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated

  • Differences in background, identity, beliefs, and ability must be respected

2. Language and Communication

  • Use appropriate and respectful language

  • Swearing, abusive, derogatory, racist, sexist, homophobic, or offensive language is prohibited

  • Threatening language or behaviour will be treated as a serious breach

3. Physical Behaviour

  • Physical aggression, fighting, or threatening behaviour is unacceptable

  • Respect personal space and boundaries

  • Any behaviour that places others at risk will result in immediate intervention

4. Mobile Phones, Vapes, and Personal Items

  • Mobile phones and vaping devices must be handed in on arrival, in line with provision rules

  • If a student states they do not have a phone or vape, this will be monitored

  • If a device is later seen or used, this will be treated as a breach of the Code of Conduct

5. Substance Use

  • Alcohol, illegal substances including THC and THC / nicotine pens, vapes or Paraphernalia, and misuse of medication are strictly prohibited on site

  • Arriving under the influence will result in removal from the provision and safeguarding action

6. Attendance, Punctuality, and Readiness to Learn

  • Students are expected to arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage

  • Persistent lateness, refusal to engage, or disruption to learning will be addressed

  • Attendance expectations are part of each student’s placement agreement

7. Respect for Property

  • Respect provision equipment, studio spaces, and the personal property of others

  • Vandalism, damage, or theft will result in serious consequences and may involve parents, schools, or external agencies

8. Safety and Safeguarding

  • Follow all health and safety instructions given by staff

  • Any unsafe behaviour will be challenged immediately

  • Students must report concerns about safety, wellbeing, or safeguarding to a member of staff

  • Staff may remove a student from a situation to ensure safety and de-escalation

9. Staff Authority

  • Students must follow reasonable instructions given by staff

  • Staff are responsible for safety, learning, and wellbeing

  • Refusal to follow instructions will be treated as a behaviour concern

10. Consequences

Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Verbal warnings and restorative conversations and/or reintegration meetings

  • Time out or removal from sessions

  • Parental / school communication

  • Behaviour plans or review meetings

  • Fixed-term or request for permanent removal from the provision

Serious incidents may require safeguarding referrals or involvement of external agencies.

Commitment

Fast Forward Music believes in support, second chances, and personal growth, but safety and respect are non-negotiable.

By attending the provision, students agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and contribute to a positive learning environment for everyone.
