Meet Fast Forward Music

Head Tutor – Chris Goss

Chris has been a lead tutor in music technology at a number of education center’s in the Nottingham area for nearly 20 years. He came into education off the back of a professional DJ career that saw him travel internationally. He set up and helped run the DJ Academy at Confetti Institute of Technologies from 2003, where the center provided one to one tuition and qualifications for a number of years. Chris then moved on to teaching Music Technology at BTEC levels 1,2,3 and at Higher Education HND and Degree level qualifications. He then went on to teaching and running Pre-16 Level 2 qualifications at academies around the city, whilst running his own education business. Chris has been associated with Synthetic Pro Audio (Fast Forwards sister company) since its inception, providing expert tuition in music production and DJ skills, one to one tuition and workshops for colleges, whilst also being lead product specialist. Chris has also run the Nottingham Ableton User Group in Nottingham. His focus is now on establishing Fast Forward as a leading provider of music tuition in Nottingham.

What you like about the Fast Forward Music Program: The Fast Forward Music Program is going to be extremely important to the city, providing much needed education and direction for pupils that otherwise might not have access to the technology and environment for a subject that is close to their interests. The courses will also provide much needed social and life skills whilst working in a welcoming environment.

Outreach & Marketing Director – Scott Ballam

Born in Brisbane, Australia. Scott has always shared something special with music, since his early years playing both guitar and piano he gradually progressed into the realm of electronic music. Having released albums as part of a punk back in the 90s to running his own record label with electronic releases covering almost 20 years. 

On the business side Scott’s the Managing Director of Reason 2 Design Ltd a long running digital marketing agency based in Ontario Canada.  His focus on delivering high performing ROI and statistical analysis to clients. Holding certifications in business management, web development and Google, the Reason 2 Design team have produced seven figure success for clients across North America and the UK in the past ten years.  

Scott’s role FFM includes director of SEO, PPC and social media management as well student outreach and reporting.

Music Tastes: Nu Jazz, Soul Funk, Hip Hop, House, Punk and Rock.

What you like about the Fast Forward Music Program: Music has always been able to heal and create a feeling of togetherness for those envolved. Our program gives a unique oppurtunity to those who need it most. Sometimes those who are most troubled have the best stories (and music) to tell.
