Working To Prevent Exclusions 

We recognise the crucial role of the Graduated Response model in UK secondary education, particularly for managing exclusions and aiding at-risk students. Our approach customises interventions, from general to specialised support, to prevent exclusions. This mirrors our dedication to inclusive education, acknowledging SEN’s spectrum and the need for escalating expert input to support students, thus fostering a more empathetic educational setting.

It reflects our commitment to inclusive education, recognising the continuum of SEN and the importance of bringing increasing expertise to bear on students’ difficulties, thus promoting a more supportive and understanding educational environment.

Fast Forward Music aligns with the Graduated Response model, targeting the critical 2% of students at risk of exclusion across Nottinghamshire. By offering specialised music education programmes, we aim to re-engage these students, providing an alternative path to success, cool down days which not only reduce the likelihood of exclusion, but support schools in their efforts to maintain an inclusive educational environment.

Our team collaborates with behaviour leads, deputy heads, and heads when students are identified as at-risk, providing essential support. Through music, we offer a distinctive chance to reconnect with education. This initiative is particularly beneficial for Key Stage 4 students in their final school year, offering them independence in an out-of-school setting.
