Fast Forward’s Creative Music Industries programme is designed for the next generation of producers, artists, DJs, engineers, and creative performers. Through practical project-based learning, learners develop real-world skills in music production, recording, songwriting, DJ performance, live sound, collaboration, and digital music technology while working towards industry-recognised RSL qualifications.

Our Creative Music Industries courses are designed for the next generation of producers, artists, DJs, engineers, performers, and music entrepreneurs looking to develop practical industry skills within a modern creative environment.

Using professional music production software, recording studios, DJ equipment, podcasting setups, and live event environments, learners explore a wide range of pathways across the music industry including production, performance, composition, live events, and music entrepreneurship.

The programme is built around practical project-based learning where learners actively create music, record audio, develop performances, produce digital content, collaborate with other artists, and build portfolios throughout the course. Learners work towards industry-recognised RSL qualifications while gaining real-world experience in modern music and creative industries.

The course is structured around specialist pathways including:

Performance:
Learners develop musicianship, rehearsal, recording, and live performance skills while building confidence and stage experience through practical music projects and collaborative work.

Production:
Learners explore music production, sound recording, sequencing, mixing, mastering, podcasting, digital content creation, and studio workflows using industry-standard software and equipment.

Composition:
Learners create original music, arrange songs, develop harmony skills, and explore music creation for media, digital content, and collaborative projects.

Live Events & Entrepreneurship:
Learners gain experience in event management, promotion, branding, music business, freelance practice, and understanding the wider music industry.

Alongside Creative Music Industry studies, learners may also have the opportunity to complete Functional Skills Maths and English qualifications to support wider progression, employability, and successful transition into further education and training.
